  • I had the pleasure of sitting down with Tricia, the founder and owner of Fluff it Marshmallows in Gilbert, Arizona. The story of Fluff it Marshmallows starts at Bass Pro Shops where Tricia worked for 7 years. Being a competitive environment, management decided to hold baking contests - Top Chef style, complete with secret ingredients. The day came when the secret ingredient was...marshmallows! Tricia, not being a fan of marshmallows to begin with, decided she was going to make her own. She realized that making marshmallow was actually quite fun and even helped her grieve the passing of her grandmother. After seeing how well her marshmallows were received, Tricia opened up an Etsy account. Later she decided it was time to expand, and created a Kickstarter, and two years ago, on August 22nd, Tricia, with her wife Hazel by her side, opened up Fluff it Marshmallows! Tricia's special recipe started as trial and error to eventually bring it to what it is today. Since many people live with corn allergies, Tricia wanted to find substitutes for Corn Syrup & Corn Starch. Now, the Fluff it Marshmallows recipe uses Tapioca Starch & Simple Sugar. Fluff It Marshmallows does not only sell marshmallows, they also have delicious Costa Rican coffee! Hot, iced, flavored, or un-flavored, you can't go wrong with it! I had an iced hazelnut coffee......YUM! Now to what Fluff it Marshmallows is all about...their creations! I was able to sample their German Chocolate S'mores served in graham cracker bowl. Chocolate ganache drizzle goes down first to support a cocoa marshmallow in the middle which gets torched...literally. Next, FOUR MORE cocoa marshmallows get roasted and topped off by chocolate ganache drizzle, coconut, brownie & crunchy pecans. My taste buds went wild! Fluff it Marshmallows is a fantastic marshmallow cafe that serves up delicious treats for the whole family. Along with their made-to-order goodies, they offer to-go four-packs of their homemade marshmallows, marshmallow fluff, t-shirts, and even marshmallow roasting sticks! These make such great gifts for any occasion. *The S'mores bowls are best when eaten immediately so they're nice and gooey and warm. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I have!I had the pleasure of sitting down with Tricia, the founder and owner of Fluff it Marshmallows in Gilbert, Arizona.
