Average hotel. Amazing location.
Fourth time in Vegas and first time at the flamingo. Reading the yelp reviews I was honestly scared to stay here but I'm glad I didn't let that deter me.
Pros;
The (updated) rooms are nice. We chose a non smoking room with a king bed and there was no trace of smoke and the room was spacious. We had a mini fridge that fit lots of drinks and leftovers from the strip.
The bathroom was lovely! The lighting was amazing and they provide you with soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion.
You have the option to opt out of having your room cleaned during your stay and receive a food credit for the hotel.
Luckily I didn't have any issues with the check in process. The kiosk is simple and straightforward and offers upgrades at a price if you're interested.
The GoPool is amazing! I would recommend renting a day bed as you just have to hit a minimum spend (super easy - two drinks per person and you've already done it) There's fun live music or a DJ and the drinks are delicious as well as the food.
The location is fantastic. You're right next to the LINQ promenade so you have easy access to food and two sets of stairs away from Ballys/Paris/Planet Hollywood..
Cons;
The walk to your room can be brutal. The hallways are so long and so a drunk stumble back to your room feels like a hike. There are plenty of elevators but if you have any mobility issues, see about getting a room closer to the elevators.
The food is pretty subpar. They have a small cafeteria area but the food is pretty subpar. The pizza looks super old even when it comes out of the oven so I'm not sure what kind of ingredients are being used.
Overall, as someone who works in a hotel, it's really not as bad as some people say.
The pros are longer than the cons and you can tell they're putting in the money to update it.
As one of the cheaper options along the strip, it's definitely an amazing option and I look forward to recommending it to others
