  • I'm still new to poker, only about 3 years under my belt. This was my first Vegas tournament- small, daily, $200 buy in with rebuys through the first 4 levels. I had bought back in at the end of the break and was at a table, and feeling good. A player goes all in and I call. He has A2 and I have A10. The board comes down Q6?6?. I should have been paying attention but all o know is that the dealer said that I won. He gave me the chips, I stacked, the all in player left and we were about to begin the next hand when two players say that there was a J on the board which would have meant a split pot. They run after the guy, and even though at first the dealer is sure there was no jack and that I was indeed the winner, the debate is on and he is now convinced of the jack and they are trying to recall the amount in the pot and how much I owe to the player who may or may not have been out...it all seemed suspect and I wasn't sure the count or the cards were right. Then more talk. We convince the pit boss? To look at the hand through surveillance since there are several payers who did not remember the Jack. He comes back some time later and says there was a Jack. The dealer makes a remark about someone getting fired over the exact same thing not too long ago...I feel bad, my game is off and I lose heads up twice more, once AJ vs my AK, he hits a Jack. And again against JJ against my AJ...no ace in sight. I want what's fair but feel like once a player abandons his chips and the dealer is sure, there shouldn't be much more discussion between others convincing the dealer another way...I don't know if they checked for sure but I don't know if I'll go back. I spoke to a manager about it and all she said was sorry...isn't this Vegas? Sorry? Poker is a game of psychology and this messed me up and I'm soured that nothing was done to truly rectify the situation.
