Well, I have to say I'm a fan now. I went to Midas to get an oil change from a Group On I purchased and just had a really bad feeling about it, but I went anyway. Suddenly my shocks were bad, all the fluid leaked out of one of them and I needed new tires and an alignment. The typical, especially when they see a woman. Now I have a 2012 Elantra with 22k miles so it's almost new. I hardly use it. So he quoted me $560 for new shocks, never mind the tires. Meanwhile I had replace a tire in February. I just asked him to change the oil. After my husband telling me about a CNN story about mechanics spraying shocks with oil so it appears the fluid leaked out so they can sell you new shocks, I was nervous thinking what the hell did Midas do to my car. Went to Sears the next day. Met Velveeta at the desk. Smart lady. Knew exactly what she was doing and such a pleasure to speak to. I explained my concerns. The mechanic checked my car and as far as they could tell my car was not tampered with. They replaced the shocks and I did not need an alignment and yes my oil really was changed. I was charged $218 for those Monroe shocks too. So THANK YOU SEARS, Velveeta and the crew for great service. I think I found a new mechanic. You made my day. :)
