| - HORRIBLE! I purchased a Groupon for Gel Manicure and Spa Pedicure, my appointment was on a Weds, day before I went out of town for the weekend. My choice of polish color was French for both hands & feet. The quality of the regular polish on my feet appeared dull, almost as if she did not put "Top Coat" but I believe I recall top coat was applied so this means the product was not good. Then for my Gel nails, gel is always suppose to last up to two weeks. By two days later the white color started to peel. I was out of state, by that Sunday two of my fingers has the white completely off and a couple of other nails started look "bad". The shop is closed in Sun & Mon. I called Tuesday and we set an appointment for me to come in on Weds. I arrived for my appointment, the same nail tech was to take care of me. She was the only one in the shop & owner was not there. I had decided I do not want to do the Gel just to have it happen two days later again so I requested to just take the Gel off and do regular polish and if she can just polish my toes the same color. If I had known this would happen I would have requested that initially. The nail tech "Elvis" told me she was told to just replace two maybe three nails. I explained to her, this was COMPLETELY AN INCONVENIENCE FOR ME & LONG DRIVE (30mins). I do not want to receive the same thing if the quality is not good, that is the only way gel starts to peel. I have been receiving gel for YEARS but not that I think about it, when she did my Mani she didn't even have me wash my hands before applying the gel, now that I do not know if it will make a difference BUT I am used to washing my hands!
Apparently, the owner hires newly graduated nail techs fresh out of school. The owner herself just recently graduated from school for Nail Services. That shouldn't be a problem and I understand everyone needs a start! What completely appalled me is the lack of taking responsibility when there is a problem. I asked Elvis to call the owner regarding my situation and my request. She attempted to call two times and no answer. I asked if owner will be in store today and she stated "yes" hour maybe two. My having to drive ALL that way to be told to set another appointment or that she could only do 2 - 3 nails when they were all starting to look "rough". I have never had a nail tech not take responsibility, in the past a nail tech will ALWAYS tell me the Gel should last for at least a week and half to two weeks. If I have problems to just give them a call. Well I was not told that at Head 2 Toe BUT I did call and I was able to go in but not able to request something different knowing I do now want to continue with the same quality of the brand they use and service! The whole purpose of Groupon is to try something new at a reduced cost to see if the customer will like the services and quality. I will drive when both of those are WORTH IT. I am a customer that WAS NOT being unreasonable, I paid for SERVICES (no matter the cost) I paid! I also left a tip that she really did not deserve but I wanted to be nice because she is starting out. When I left there I was not the happiest with how my hands and feet looked compared to past services by others BUT I knew Elvis was new and I wanted to give her that opportunity to get the experience. Once the peeling started that was just too much but I believe that has to do with the quality of the product which that part is up to the owner and what she chooses to use, if not then it all falls on Elvis the nail tech.
