  • Underwhelming dinner at Bachi Burger on Windmill. Pickles were ok, but the guy who brought them to the table couldn't even identify one of the vegetables. He shrugged and was like "I asked them before and they mumbled something I couldn't understand." lolwat? Half the pickles (3 of the 6 types) were pretty sour (eggplant, radish, and some kind of gingery onion -- the others were cucumber, spicy seaweed, and garlic). The pickled garlic was pretty solid, very nutty. Pork belly bao were good. Wife's comment "eh, Momofuku's were a lot better, but maybe that's not fair." lol Burgers: Split the Miyagi-san and the Banh-Mi. First bite of Miyagi-san was great with the sesame and the onion rings. But honestly subsequent bites were good-not-great. Banh-mi was overwhelming imo due to the curry. We got through half the burger and just decided to pass on the other half. Took a PB & Chocolate milkshake to go, and the waitress brought it in a to go cup and then disappeared for like 15 minutes, never bringing the check. There's a reason we ordered that to go! Anyway, milkshake was too thin for my liking (I like thick shakes) but tasted good. Wife's comment leaving was "that was fine, but I don't really need to go back." I feel the same way.
