  • This place is just down right awesome. As a person that is intensely into learning about the best way to eat and drink and to be aware of the things that you take in this place was a real win for me. Also its rich in history this is one of the oldest bottled water companies in the country and "legend has it the migrating Catawba Indian tribe discovered the Midas spring. The story goes that when one brave fell ill and had to be left behind as the tribe moved with the seasons, it is said that he remained by the spring and drank the pure water and was restored to health by the time the tribe returned the following year." All of the Midas spring water is bottled right there at the source and is tapped from a deep artesian spring since the late 1800's. It is found to have a mineral content that is nutritionally beneficial to the body. Its good for everyone and everything it helps with your overall health and is also said to relieve kidney stones in people and animals. When my guy and I first found out about this place from a newly made friend we were given a short history lesson on it and immediately made plans to come out and get a few cases for ourselves. It is more than fairly priced at 10 bucks per case of bottles OR 12 (or was it 15?) for one of the larger jugs that you see in offices and such. If you go that route and buy one of the larger jugs they sell pumps for them at 12 a piece I believe it was and the next time you come in you can bring your empty jug back and the next one is at a reduced rate. There is also other ways you can dispense the water by buying a more advanced dispensing system either from there or from somewhere like Target. This is truly the only water that I can get my hands on around here that I will be drinking at my house and yes I am a little crazy about my dogs so I bought a large jug for them to drink and let me tell you they LOVE IT! Midas Springs is located outside of Huntersville so a bit of a hike for some folks but not only well worth the trip and you can buy in bulk so its not like you have to go often, but its also a chance to enjoy the absolutely gorgeous drive out (at least the route we went out beatties ford) the city turns into serene country roads with small shops and businesses sprinkled along the way. What a great way to also discover a new little shop or place to grab a bite to eat we wouldn't normally have found! When you come out to Midas for the first time pay attention the sing on the side of the road is small and its just a small road that leads back to their 40 plus acre property. They are open Monday through Friday 8am to 3:30pm during the summer months Saturdays 9am to 1pm.
