  • I got a Japanese hair straightening treatment in August of 2012 at Jenny Haircut. Jenny herself did my hair, she first told me that it will cost $250 but later when I was paying she said the tax was not included in the price and I have to pay $282.50! When you are told that this will cost you certain amount you assume that this is the final amount you have to pay!!! And then while I was paying, she said 282.50 does not include the tip! But dealing with greed is the least you have to deal with in Jenny Haircut! When I asked her what kind of product she is using, (I had heard there are Japanese products and much less expensive Korean ones) She said she uses Korean. She also said "She uses Korean not because of the cost but because they are better than the Japanese ones! Three and a half hours in Jenny Haircut and my hair was all straight and shinny but when I washed my hair 3 days later (as I was instructed by Jenny), I noticed that a large area of my scalp is hairless! She had burnt the hair of a large area about 2 by 2 inches (5x5 cm)! The entire hair of that area was burnt! Two months later the hair of the burnt area is growing but my hair about 12 inches long while the burnt hair right on top of my head is barely 1 inch! It looks absolutely hideous! I didn't get a chance to go back to the salon and show them the disaster (because I had to leave Richmond Hill right after I washed my hair and I have not been back yet) Beside the burnt hair the result of hair straightening was not that great either. My hair lost some of its curls but has not become straight by any means. I have gotten the same treatment six other times at a salon in Korean town, paid $80 less and came out with all my hair on my head all perfectly straight! I absolutely regret not going to my old salon for the treatment. I would avoid getting any kind of professional hair treatment done at Jenny Haircut! This place is good for quick and cheap hair cuts but not for professional hair treatments. So AVOID this place if you don't like a big bald spot on your head!
