| - I've been to vegas multiple times since this ferris wheel went up and never did I think I would find myself on it. We were in vegas for my friends 30th birthday and before we went, were researching things to do. A friend of mine heard from her coworker that the High Roller had a happy (half) hour option where you get an open bar for the 30 minutes you're on the ferris wheel. That was the nudge we needed to get us to go!
I booked tickets on their website ahead of time. There was an online deal for 5 dollars off each ticket. I highly recommend booking online ahead of time - we were able to bypass the long line for purchasing tickets or redeeming vouchers and make our way straight up! A few tourist grap photos (that we, like good tourists, ended up purchasing ;) ) later, we were in line for the next happy hour car. There was another group of about 6-7 and a group of 3-4 with us. Even with all these people and a bar in the middle of the car, we weren't cramped for space or deprived of any views.
Our bartender was Tara and she was wonderful! She had cups filled with ice ready as we got on. Once we were on, she quickly explained what she had and worked so fast to give us all our first round. She clearly understood that the ride was only 30 minutes and wanted to help us get the most out of the open bar if we wanted. She was great!
The views are amazing. We went during the day and loved it and I can just imagine how beautiful the views are if you're on the night one (or better yet, if you're up there right around sunset).
I'm sure it's great to go on this ferris wheel in general, but if you're going ( and are 21+ and like to drink .. I'm sure most people do in vegas), I HIGHLY recommend the happy hour option. And, as I said before, I recommend buying your tickets ahead of time online.
