VCA is a fairly good place but the only things that bother me are their prices and the rudeness of the front desk.
Dr. Augustine saw my kitty and was really good with her, super nice, comforting and quick with the shots and exam. She was really helpful about answering my questions and providing me with a good recommendation. Five stars for Drs. Win and Augustine.
The prices suck though. My moms cat goes to the vet on the corner of Horizon and Greenway and only paid $30 for an exam & three shots. My cat had the same things done and it cost me $100.50 at VCA. I would rather pay more for quality care but that's quite the uptick in prices.
Secondly, the receptionist, Dee Dee, is kind of rude. I called a week ago to see if I needed to make an appointment or if I could walk in and also to get a rough ballpark estimate of an exploratory biopsy. She was really short with me and snidely told me she "had absolutely no idea" and that I would have to ask a doctor. Bullshit. I used to work at an animal hospital and the receptionist is the person who is in charge of collecting payments. Bull shit you don't have any idea. I mean I get it if they don't want to be held liable for misquoting but still, you could say it depends on a lot of things or I couldn't say accurately. Anyways, when I went in today she was at it again. This couple came out of an exam room, teary eyed and red faced and stopped at the desk to ask when they should come back and Dee Dee just stared at them, sort of disgusted and then was like I have no idea what you're talking about. Like what the fuck. There are nicer ways to let people know you're unclear about what they're asking for. But she kept doing that to other customers and it was annoying to listen to. Ok rant over.
