| - Recently, I traded a month of bleak MN winter for the sun-drenched Phoenix "cool" season. On one leisurely afternoon, my mood fell short of the day's bright, carefree feel. I shifted my focus, and headed out for exploration and treating myself until sated, pleasantly tired, and pink-cheeked from the sun...
As I drove up, seeing ThirdSpace's facade brought on a smile. It's a funky, rough-around-the-edges space & neighborhood - not everyone will find it appealing or comfortable. For me, choosing Grind House Coffee as my first stop was a perfect call.
Their indoor space is cozy and warm. The outdoor seating options - a side patio and ThirdSpace's communal area - make for perfect group, as well as, solo visits. The baristas, Peyton and Christian (apologies if I misspelled your names), were WONDERFUL! They were personable, laid-back, & patient with my newbie questions - KEY to the welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
The smallish pastry display presented yummy-looking, homemade treats. I still had a hard time choosing, and honestly, wanted one of each!
I walked to a table in the large community area encircled by the small businesses that make up ThirdSpace. It provided ample room to spread out my spicy chai latte, strawberry bar, & book.
After settling in and appreciating the sun for a moment, I turned my attention to my goodies. My chai was spicy, as promised! The strawberry bar did not disappoint - it was moist, flavorful, and substantial.
Thank you for a welcome start to my day of roaming - I could have easily stayed longer! But, it was time to continue on & find more fun places and people.
