We showed up for the Sat evening without a reservation but of the surrounding choices, the reviews here and on other sites favored Mercato Della Pesheria. They had a table for two immediately. A great start.
I think this is a little gem. It is easy to fall into the "Vegas trap" to get you in and out with a fake atmosphere, but not so here. It was easy to forget that we were inside a building. Our server was Italian and was very attentive, always available and his suggestions were followed and enjoyed.
We had cocktails and starters were 1/2 dozen oysters and the cured meat platter. Very tasteful and plenty of it - with the fresh baguette in the tomato can - cute and a nice touch. I chose the seafood linguine Nd my partner the osso buccu on risotto. All too much to finish but we tried since it was great. I tasted both dishes and some of the best I have had.
The surroundings remained busy, but not intrusive and some live music too by a trio with a guitar, an accordion and a singer which was mostly opera. Obviously there was a noise tour group here and there, but you take the good with the bad.
All in all a great evening out and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Try it. It is 4 out of 5 only since it felt a bit pricey for just two people.
