| - Let me start out by saying years ago American Shooters was once my go to range and gun store, but my recent visit yesterday reminded me of why I haven't been there in years. I went there looking for a Sig Sauer P320 X-FIve. Upon entering the store I was advised that they did not have that particular firearm and it was hard to come by, as I expected. Things started to take a turn for the worse when after browsing I was greeted by a gentleman by the name of Kirk(at least that's what his name tag read). If you've ever been to American Shooters then you know their prices are not competitive at all, probably the highest in Las Vegas and that the salesmen can be rather.... pushy, at times. So while Kirk was informing me about the firearms I whispered in a jokingly manner "hey these prices are rather elevated". This guy went on a rant! First, he says "you're paying for great service". I'm like what? This is not the restaurant business, it's the gun business so I could care less about customer service. Give me a Glock for $519 with bad service than $599 with good service. I say this because they have the Glock 26 Gen 4 for $599! That's ridiculous! I just bought a Glock 26 at Precision Armory for $519 and the service was awesome! The HK P30sk I bought my lady was cheaper than that! So then he says they have the biggest selection in Las Vegas, obviously, he hasn't been to Freedom Firearms, and if your selection is so vast why do you NOT have what I want? Then, he says no other range has the range they do, to me, it looks like the same range they had 10 years ago, obviously he hasn't been to Range 702 or seen the digital lanes that Discount Firearms has. On top of that, they're still charging a $20 range fee when everywhere else charges $10. Green Valley Range charges $20 but the lanes are super wide, plus they thoroughly clean your firearm when you're done shooting. Then, he talks about how well they pay him, his benefits package, how his service doesn't come cheap and basically they have to price their firearms that high to afford his services. Then, he goes on to say how these other stores are only making a $20 profit on the firearms they sell. At this time my lady and I felt awkward and wanted to leave immediately. This guys feelings were clearly hurt and you could clearly tell he didn't want us there. So we left and went Freedom Firearms(best damn gun store in the city) and they always have what I'm looking for. I can honestly say I will NEVER again step foot inside American Shooters.
