Yelp 100 Challenge 15' * 11/100
Came here with a couple of my good friends to pick some fruits and veggies! We had been planning to head out here since winter but picking the right time was tricky. Early May, we decided to beat the heat by arriving at about 10am to our dismay. Even if the thermometers said 80 degrees, the blazing sun made it feel much hotter. Also, since the farm had been open since 6am, we lost our chance to get a wagon (which would have been free) to place our greens in. Cloth bags are on sale for $2 so remember to bring your own.
It would really help to bring your garden gloves if you have a pair. We were not ready for the muddy soil when harvesting carrots, kale and getting pricked by thorns from zucchini branches. Apricots, pears, apples and peaches weren't quite ready yet so I might go back to pick some out before the month ends. Itching to make some cobblers!
We only managed to go around for an hour when the heat was too much for one of my friends to bear. Payment was done in front of the orchard. Prepped bundles of asparagus, garlic cloves and almond butter are available at the counter for those who want to bypass the field. Debit, credit and cash are accepted. Don't wait till summer to take your friends or mothers here. It's a wonderful experience and a great way to bond.
