I would first like that my two-start rating does not apply to my salesman Joe Scripp. Joe was excellent from start to finish. Joe, took his time and was patient with me. He convinced me to come back to lot AFTER I'd done my due diligence and research on the pricing the of the vehicle that I wanted. Joe was able to get me in the car I desired on my terms. I would love to purchase a car from Joe in the future. Joe treated me like his own daughter during this process and for that I rate him five stars.
The two stars are for the finance rep and service department. It pains me to give this rating and I'm glad I waited a while to give a holistic review. The rep that handled my financing process was an awesome lady at first; however, I found out about 21 days later that the non-warranty (it's pitched as a warranty, but clearly states on the paperwork that it's not a warranty) she sold me added $2500 to the cost of the vehicle. She quoted me a monthly payment, but neglected to point out (even though the payments were low) the total cost of the warranty bumped up the cost of the car. Once I read through the paperwork (Thank God) I pointed this out and requested to remove the warranty. She went back and forth with me over the phone about how she was concerned I'd have issues and the warranty would cover me. She also lied and stated the reason she was able to get the lower payment was because of the warranty. I checked this through my finance company and they refuted that lie altogether stating that warranties have no effect on the price and interest rate. Once I'd sent in my written cancellation form she explained she'd process it and it would take 4-6 weeks. Well about five weeks later AFTER following up with my finance company because she wouldn't return my calls I found out she NEVER submitted the request to cancel. The faux warranty company actually had to babysit and process the request and ensure the finance department at the dealership did what was required to remove the warranty. I did not appreciate being lied to and almost pressured into keeping a fake warranty. I'm sure the reason she pressed keeping the warranty and neglected to file the removal paperwork is because she gets a nice commission off of that faux product. It was very unprofessional, selfish, and greedy of her to pull that scam. Had I not read through all of my documents and followed-up with the warranty company I'd be paying $2500 over the purchase price of the vehicle.
My next issue is with the service department. I hadn't had my vehicle 72 hours before my check engine light came on. I also don't appreciate the car being displayed on the website for sale when it hadn't even been cleaned. They were so anxious to sale the care that I couldn't even test drive it when I came all the way to Avondale from North Scottsdale to take a look at the car. Why is it up on the website if it hasn't even been inspected and cleaned? I had to wait three days before I could take the care off the lot AFTER I'd signed my paperwork and had been financed for the car. Once I got the car the very NEXT morning the check engine light was on. I brought it to the dealership and they agreed to fix the issue at no charge of course, but when I came back to pick it up no sooner than I hit the ramp to get on the freeway the check engine light is on AGAIN! I had planned for a road-trip that weekend and I was assured it would be safe to drive. They were right, but it was still annoying after you've just made a purchase. It is a used vehicle, but come on...24 hours and a check engine light??? Not to mention it's back on and I haven't owned the care for six months smh. They were obviously in a rush and now I'm stuck with a vehicle that loves to have the engine checked periodically.
I hope they read this review and start taking their time with vehicle intake and make sure cars are good to sale. Lastly, that finance department needs some guidelines. They shouldn't be able to con people into taking warranties without outlining the FULL picture. AND when a customer says NO and REMOVE they should do what's asked and not LIE about doing something just for a commission.
