  • had romantic dinner with the wife. we felt over all the place was very good. dinner was nice. location is great. we had couple of drinks before at the bar just outside the restaurant at hotel lobby which were expensive but lots of fun (over $60+ for two drinks each!) for wise, we had to start the firtto misto, the braised beef and the creamy palenta. the last two were very good, super nicely presented and very tasty. with the fritto misto we had huge issues. we take this dish often all over the place and this one must have been way way worse. to start it was 90% vegis that where all cut way too small and where way over cooked...hence they were all falling a part and very oily. we manage to find 2 pieces of squid and 5 or 6 little pieces of shrimp (i.e like 2 shrimps in total cut in 3 pieces each). proportion was way off...should be more like 30% squid, 30% shrimp and 30% veg.....the other 10% is usually some other fish of the day which is always nice to find as well restaurant people - if you are reading this please please change and improve as it was very disappointing! for main dish we went with the classic pasta the place was famous for and with bass fish. both were very good. fish was amazing. pasta was good. had to take the pasta cause it was feature on show best thing i ever ate. it was just good but not best pasta i ever had at all. advice would be to skip and try other awesome dish they surly had we had 2 great desserts. cheese cake and chocolate cake with coffee ice cream both were great (chocolate cake and ice cream was exceptional!) all in all with 2 drinks the total was some what expensive but we had a great evening. all the food was very good to amazing! perhaps skip the simple pasta or try another more special sauce but every other dish was amazing with the exception of the fritto misto which was a total disaster! the only other comment i can make which is not a real comment is that the portions where all a little on the small size. i actually know this is normal in fine dinning places and i have no real issue, however we are certain that if another chef would be serving this portions to the owner on "chopped" tv show - there is no doubt scott would say over and over as he usually does.....this is not an appetizer portion size....i wish i had more fish etc etc we were only hoping he will put a little more of his profits where his mouth is - fyi scott :-) but a defiantly 4 start and a huge thumps up for a special occasion places. service and staff were real great!
