I was told my warranty was expired and I'd have to pay $650 to fix the automatic doors on my passenger sides on my 2013 RX350. I lived with it for a while rather than fix it and finally my husband went down to Lexus to talk to them. Surprise! My warranty is not expired.
I talked to the (different) service guy in person when I picked it up and told him I believe I was treated poorly because I am a woman. He said the service manager would call me. Still waiting.
I know, being treated poorly at a dealership when you are a woman is so normal it is cliche. But I'm almost 50 and at a high car price point now and with a luxury brand... I thought all that was behind me. Disheartening.
I can be treated poorly at Toyota for about 15K less. That's where I'll be getting my next car(s). Know your warranty! Shame on me for believing them when they said I had to pay. And shame on me for thanking them when they waived the $100 fee to even diagnose the problem.
I was torn about posting a bad review. I'm posting it for my 15 year old god daughter in the hope that calling brands out for this behavior might save her from having similar experiences... maybe by the time she's almost 50.
