| - I sat at the bar, and I received great service from the male bartender. He was courteous and professional. I also noticed that he checked to go orders for accuracy, prior to handing the food over to the customers. That is a commitment to excellent service.
Prices: Expensive. Figure on $25 per person without beer or cocktails. Yeah, I know that this is Charlotte, but I don't want to pay their rent.
Pulled Pork Barbecue Quality? Good, but slightly over-rated. Maybe the best in CLT though. I liked their burnt ends the best. B+
Décor: This is a cool restaurant, well laid out and inviting. I like the vibe and decor of this place.
Negatives: Parking in their minuscule parking lot is almost nonexistent. I guess that one could park across the road in the shopping center parking lot and dart across the busy traffic, but I'm too old to play "dodge ball with vehicles."
PS: A confused waitress brought out my bacon wrapped jalapeno appetizer - well AFTER I received my entrée, and she tried to give it to other customers....not good. Many of the seeds were left in the jalapenos, so they were hella spicy, almost too spicy to eat. I left one on the plate.
I classify Midwood Smokehouse's fare as "city" barbecue or barbecue for those who don't know any better. Hey Midwood, don't despair, B+ from me on BBQ is pretty darned good. See my BBQ list for traditional BBQ restaurants in NC at 1/3 the price.
