| - My friend booked a spa weekend for a group of seven of us to celebrate her upcoming wedding. She called numerous times to set up services but they only had one person working to do manicures and pedicures. We ended up just going for the baths, steam rooms and sauna experience. Never during her calls with the manager did they mention it would be a problem to bring a group of people.
This place is clearly not meant for large groups. When we arrived, we were jokingly told that there are "blah blah blah" areas where we can speak in our regular voices but must whisper everywhere else. We were shown around by a nice man who let us know that we were allowed to whisper. While in the pools, a group of people were talking rather loud near us and we watched as the staff told them to quiet down. Already whispering nearby, we quieted further. Within a few minutes we were told that there was a no talking policy in the pools by the same person who had told us we were allowed to whisper.
While in the saunas and steam rooms, we continued to whisper and giggle without issues.
When we went for refreshments in the "blah blah blah" area, the receptionist named Anne, came over to us and told us that "MANY" people had complained to her. She detailed that everyone that complains is entitled to a buy one, get one half off coupon for their next visit. She told us we were costing her $46 for every complaint made. She said she knew it was our group they were complaining about because we were the group of girls wearing hats (two women had sun hats on to protect their faces, one of them was the bride). She made us feel uncomfortable about going back in and she clearly wanted us to feel that way so we would leave.
The entire group felt horrible and uncomfortable so we decided to leave. When we approached Anne at reception to receive a refund or coupon since we were now complaining about the way we were treated, she told us she could not process discounts or refunds and that the manager would need to call the bride on Monday (we never received any follow up calls). Anne also told me that she could tell that I was a "mean" person, which is something you would never ever say to someone, especially a paying customer.
The whole experience was disturbing. We are all so disgusted that we don't want a coupon to go back there ever.
If you are going as a group, I do not recommend this place. After reading other reviews, it seems as though this has been an issue with this establishment going back many years.
