  • I've been to Eldorado Grill four times now - once during Madison's restaurant week, once for Happy Hour, once for brunch, and once (most recently) for dinner. All four times, I've come away thinking that I should have started eating here MUCH sooner (something I kick myself about now that I've moved out of Madison). Some favorites from the menu: -EVERY SINGLE MARGARITA I'VE TRIED. Seriously, folks. These margaritas are just killer. The fruit purees make for a really tasty, fresh drink. The honey-ginger margarita is a unique drink that warms you up from the inside out. The standard margaritas are fresh and smooth. It's all just. so. GOOD. -Texas Torpedoes. While they give you a bigger kick than you'd expect for only using jalapenos, this appetizer is one that shouldn't be missed at any time of day or night. -BBQ Glazed Salmon. This was a surprisingly awesome dish. It was a bit more traditional than what you'd expect from a funky Tex-Mex place like Eldorado Grill, but I don't even care because I'm still dreaming about that perfect bite of salmon, chutney, garlic mashed potatoes, and brussels sprouts. I can't wait to go back so I can taste it again. -Eldorado Benedict. I'm a benedict fan, and this one doesn't disappoint. The fact that you get a not-insubstantial piece of salmon along with two potato pancakes and poached eggs... Man oh man, that was the best breakfast I've had in a loooong time. Highly recommend. Honestly, though, I haven't had anything here that I disliked. The one menu option that didn't meet expectations was the Vegan Chorizo/Vegetable Stuffed Poblano, which, while tasty, didn't have much flavor coming from the chorizo itself. I've had my fair share of non-vegan chorizo and missed its distinctive flavor here. However, the poblano itself had a delicious smoky flavor - one you don't often get from meat-free entrees. If you're in Madison and wanting a place to check out for dinner, Eldorado Grill does not disappoint.
