| - Been wanting to try this place for awhile and was hoping it would be great...Alas, let me recount the let down...
My girlfriend and I were promptly seated upon arrival. However, that was the end of the kind customer service and the beginning of dealing with someone else's bad day...
Our waitress was rude and came fully equipped with a bad attitude and dirty looks. She was argumentative and a grouch when I tried to show my government issued ID to order a Guinness. She lectured me like I was a teenager, feeling it was necessary to really teach me a lesson on using the accepted identification in their establishment. This poor display of professionalism and bad behavior was unacceptable and immediately earned her no tip.
After her outburst and her angrily taking our order, my Guinness finally came 10 mins later. BTW, not busy at all in there... The Guinness was great, but it should be... The waitress came by and filled our waters as needed, but each time with a harsh scowl on her wretched face. Geez...
As we waited for over 20 mins for our dinner salads to arrive, I couldn't help but notice what a bland and un-modern decor the place had. Very unstimulating and just a really boring looking place for this type of area... *Yawn...
My girlfriend had the salmon salad and I had a steak salad. We had asked for the dressing on the side, and I received a little more than a tablespoon's worth of some kind of sweet steak sauce. It was not even close to being anything anyone would put on a salad. It had kind of a teriyaki taste to it; really syrupy and just way too sweet. It was disgusting.
The steak had to be sliced more, as the pieces were not bite sized and the "salad" was just a unattractive pile of dark green leaves, maybe romaine...Not sure, but it had nothing else with it...Just steak and leaves. It was the most half-assed salad Ive ever seen or eaten in a restaurant. Pathetic...
And of course our rude and lazy waitress couldn't check on us in a timely fashion, after we received our meals... Would've loved to get some actual salad dressing, but was so hungry I just ate what I had, so we could leave quicker.
My girlfriend's salmon salad was much better, put together with all the expected salad accessories. However, it came with an uncut maybe 4 oz chunk of salmon resting on top of the salad mound... Again, it was a half-assed lazy food presentation, which pretty much describes how this place is...
I will not EVER be coming back here and am unable to recommend this place. So many other better choices in the area, don't waste you time/money on mediocrity... A truly regrettable experience...
