  • I signed with American West the last week of January with Amy. This is my second home but my first with this builder so I am very excited because I have always wanted an American West home. The experience thus far has been very different than my last. First the fact that we had to put our money down just to wait for a lot to become available. That was fine though, no big deal. The next thing that was a bit different was putting down 50% on all of the upgrades Before they even began building the home. Then, the fact that there is a different vendor that you have to contract with for Everything! Meet with a flooring company, a company for the wires and plugs in the home as well as a closet and window company. So again, please remember that you must put money down at each of these places Before your home is done. My experience has been good this far. Amy told me build time would be about 5 months and we are now in June so...we are now at the 5 month mark and I just checked on the house and we are still in framing so it looks like it may be a few more months. Neither the builder nor New American has given me a close date yet. I will keep you all updated.
