| - After hearing so many great things about Studio Le Beau I was truly hopeful I would have a positive experience. My long-time (nearly 7 years and counting) stylist at another salon is out enjoying an extended vacation and so I decided to try SLB as it was closer to home. I have to say I had the strangest experience. The stylist was friendly, and appropriately chatty, but I've never had someone cut my hair without combing it through first. Truthfully, I felt at times as though my hair was being cut by my eager, but decidedly inexperienced, college roommate on a whim. Not exactly what I was going for and the situation made me really uneasy. Perhaps the stylist has years of experience and truly knows what she is doing, after all, my hair did turn out "ok", but I just didn't feel confident or comfortable during my experience. I certainly would not have wanted to try anything exciting or new with this stylist due to the lack of confidence.
At the end of the day, my hair looks fine. It doesn't really look too much different than when I came in, but I did just ask for a trim as I was a little apprehensive. However, for a $40 haircut and with all the rave reviews, I was expecting more.
Also, I have to say I am disappointed in their price mark-up on salon products. I am a salon product fan and have no problem paying for good products, but $25 for a product I can get for $15 at other salons is kind of irksome.
