| - I'm sure rich people would turn their noses up at the idea of these rooms being a "suite" but for my modest working-class tastes it was pretty nice. It's really more like a solid upper-middle hotel, like the better Comfort Inn or Best Western properties, than a proper suite as it's all one-room units and I don't think most of them have kitchens (though all have a microwave and decent size mini-fridge as well as separate sink and countertop). I cashed in Wyndham Gold points that were about to expire for this stay but the usual nightly rate seems to be around $60-80 and for that price that's pretty much what you should expect anyway.
Agree with the most-recent reviewer about the breakfast -- there's a lot of stuff but none of it is particularly interesting, except the coffee which was actually really good for hotel lobby coffee. The main downside is that they don't want you bringing food back to the room and the dining area is tiny, not really adequate to handle the traffic if the hotel has a bunch of people in it. The hotel as a whole is well-kept though and they have a sizable indoor pool, good laundry room, meh little fitness center that just has some dumbbells and a few ellipticals. Had a good wifi connection throughout and all the staff I talked to were very polite and on the ball. If you have a Wyndham Rewards account they give you a little snack baggie at check-in with potato chips, M&Ms and a bottle of water ;P
Room itself was nice and clean. Good cable selection though conspicuous lack of HBO. Bed was comfy. Only downsides were that the walls seemed thin (though fortunately no crazy neighbor noise for me) and the computer desk chair was for some reason the most uncomfortable and pokey thing I've ever sat in. Since I was using points I sprung for the Jacuzzi room, which is nothing special except that there's a Jacuzzi tacked onto it. Thing was mana for my sore legs and shoulders from walking around carrying bags for days prior but I felt bad about how much water it took to fill and that if someone was below me the jet noise was probably driving them nuts, so I only used it once :)
Henderson def. not the spot for steppin' out at night, though you can take the BHX bus from right outside to downtown Vegas, if you don't mind a 45 minute ride under the best circumstances (and over an hour if there's traffic and a bunch of wheelchairs board). If you think the immediate area is unsafe or "ghetto" then you're a baby and/or have been living in a Wealth Bubble all your life. It's not picturesque or exciting but it's fine. It's an awesome spot for inexpensive food, there's a Smith's and 99 Cent Only right next door in a large shopping center that also has tons of different restaurants. The Wyndham website still lists a casino as being at the property but that's outdated, they're referring to the former Mystic Lodge / My Casino which used to be right next door, but was shuttered earlier this year.
