  • The Art Gallery of Ontario is a fine art museum and we enjoyed our time there, but perhaps I am spoiled by the other art museums I have been to -- The National Art Gallery (Washington), The Art Institute of Chicago, and The St. Louis Art Museum -- All of which I consider better than this one (and the Washington and St Louis ones are free!). The building itself is a work of art, although it can be somewhat of a maze. There are some bright points, but there were a lot of areas where we would just walk though rooms we found to be boring. There seems to be a lot of modern art, and while I know art is subjective, and while I find some modern art to be really imaginative, I found a lot of the modern art here to be trash -- a complete waste, while some other "art" was merely a tool to showcase a liberal socialist agenda -- I wasn't a fan of that. So, if Toronto is the most convenient place to go to an art museum -- go for it; but if you have other choices, perhaps consider those.
