  • Until today, I had only been on the bumpin' rooftop patio at Ultra. But NOW I can also rave about the funky ambience and delicious food downstairs. Ultra is tucked away on Queen with a cool courtyard that leads either upstairs in the summer or to the dining room on the main floor. I was there for a product launch event so the food was a set menu, but I was very impressed. Started off with a mushroom/truffle/duck confit soup that was very interesting (a little heavy), but had a delicious blend of flavours. Secondi we had sirloin with garlic mashed and almost a slaw-like salad with a sweet vinaigrette & mushrooms, and for desert, a trio! Mini baked alaska, chocolate mousse and some sort of apple cake (I think). Delish! Really amazing decor! I know I say that a lot, but this place really takes the cake. We had long tables set up with funky center-pieces and these vintage looking read chairs. There are giant fixtures on the ceiling with almost a zebra print that matches the black accents and rich tones elsewhere. The rooftop patio is great in the summer, all white, very sleek, and a good cocktail menu. Special shout out to Nella Bella for the amazing bags & Got2B for the free swag!
