| - AVOID THIS SALON AT ALL COSTS! This place is a complete SCAM. I went there to get a blowout. I was quoted $39 by the owner. While my hair was being washed, she went on about how my hair was so dry and offered to do a moisturizing treatment. I asked how much it would be total with the treatment. She said it would be $49, at which point I said "so that's $10 additional, correct" and she said "yes". I did the treatment. She put some conditioner on my hair, massaged my scalp for 1 minute, put a hot towel on my head, then rinsed it off the next minute. The whole thing took 2 minutes and did NOTHING for my hair. Then, when drying my hair, she tried to sell me at least 4 other products that I did not need and did not want. It was a complete sales pitch non-stop--she should have paid me to get my hair done by her!
I went to check out and she bills me $110 total!! I was SHOCKED. I thought it would be $49 as we agree. She said that I must have misunderstood. First of all, I'm an auditor so I listen to every number with keen detail. Second, I'm the native English speaker, not her, so if there was a misunderstanding, it was because of her lies and deceit, not my English ability. When I challenged her on it, she would not look me in the eye and fidgeted nervously....she knew she was lying and trying to take advantage of me.
I felt totally lied to, cheated, and taken advantage of as a tourist. I will most certainly report this business to the Montreal Bureau of Consumer Affairs. Buyer beware: DON'T get scammed like I did!!!
