| - Much like Google search words, Hot, Spicy, JalapeƱo, Habanero, "Don't do it", on a menu make me salivate like Pavlov's dog. Most of the time I'm mildly amused or deeply unsatisfied with the level of heat and flavor from whatever it is I've ordered.
Enter the Afterburner burger from Rocket Burger. Pepper jack cheese, horseradish mayo, fresh jalapenos, rocket relish, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onions. Your stomach, not you, should be required to sign off on this before consumption begins. The horseradish mayo was atomic horseradish, I know because I use it in my cocktail sauce at home. This is not for young children or those that eat like them. As powerful as the burger was, it wasn't that memorable or something I would want to go back for. The bun was a little oversized for a single burger, I think they must sell a lot of doubles or bigger so the buns are probably completely right-sized for those, but both me and The Princess thought the buns were a little large. The P had a basic burger, no cheese, just tomato, mustard, catsup and she thought the burger was passable. She loved the fries, I thought they were ok.
As it's been well documented on Yelp, the soda collection is legendary, you name it or want a certain flavor of soda, it's probably there, cold and ready to enjoy. It's most likely the largest collection of bottle soda pop in the state.
This is my second time here and I feel like I'm missing something for a joint that has 4.5 stars. I'd much rather enjoy a great burger from Lenny's or Five Guys (the Five Guys little burger with everything and jalapenos is one of my all-time favorite burgers). I'll come back one last time and try a dog (thanks for the tip Mark R!).
Until then, a solid three stars.
