  • My bf and I were craving something sweet and we happened to find Doc's on a Yelp search, but we were in the outskirts of Maricopa when we found it. I made my bf wait 45 minutes because I told him this place was going to be worth the wait over the place he wanted to go to in Maricopa. Completely worth the wait! I got a scoop of the Ferrero Rocher gelato and a scoop of the vanilla bean gelato and he got two scoops of the Ferrero Rocher. I personally never get two scoops of chocolate because it's too rich for me and I like to break it up with another flavor. The vanilla bean was a good compliment. It was very light and subtle, which really helped with the bold, rich flavor of the ferrero. The ferrero by itself was amazing though. It tasted exactly like the candy. It even had little flecks of the wafer shell mixed into the gelato. I think next time I may go for something fruity, like the strawberry sorbet, to go with it. I also sampled the butter pecan and that was really good. It was sweet, but not overly sweet for me. Best part of all, the prices were pretty reasonable. I definitely want to come back to try the other flavors that they have! They also seem to be sharing their space now with a salad and sandwich place. So you can come for lunch or dinner and finish with dessert!
