WOW! Went here for my company give back event. 150 of us went and there was probably a good 50 others there at the same time. I thought: What the heck are we going to be doing with sooooo many people?? Well, not to worry. They put everyone to work, and we got the job done. We packed 211 boxes, which contains 216 meals in each box for a total of 45,710 meals. It would feed 124 children a meal a day for a year. Woo Hoo!!!
They are very efficient. Everyone gets to wear a fancy, stylin' hairnet and wash his/her hands before starting. We were assigned tasks, and the task masters made sure everyone was doing his/her job correctly. If not, well, it was explained.
After we were done, we browsed the shop. I bought a bracelet made out of paper -- must be dipped in something to make it stiff -- and a wall ornament made from the inside of an oil drum. I also bought a couple of bags of coffee.
What a great organization. If one wants, one can "adopt" a child as well to support. I will definitely go again to volunteer.
