  • Jennifer is by far the best person you could find to treat acne and acne scarring. At only 26, I've had acne for over half of my life. After graduating college I was excited to get a full time "adult" job. With my petite size and acne however, clients had a biased opinion of me as young and unknowledgeable. It was time to solve my acne issues. I've tried over the counter acne treatments, prescription pills, prescription topicals, and changing my diet without much change to the acne. I was offered Accutane but did not feel it was the right choice for me, so I started researching alternate acne treatments and through Yelp I found Jennifer Swink. For a few months I went in for acne facials. Once the acne had cleared I asked Jennifer to help me reduce the scars left behind by cystic acne. Jennifer had just added microneedling to her spa menu and explained the process along with other options like strong peels. For me the selling point for needling was that Jennifer uses disposable needles (so no need to worry about infection), results continue to improve for up to six months, and it's easy to get back to work quickly without feeling self-conscious (the strong peels can look scaly/peely for about a week). Even though I have always been afraid of needles in the past, I trusted Jennifer enough to try microneedling and enjoy it's benefits. Jennifer has numbing cream for patients with microneedling appointments up front, making it easy to stop by at any time before your appointment to pick it up. (If you aren't able to pick it up and apply at home, be sure to get there an hour prior to your appointment to apply it! It makes a difference!). I was a little anxious, but with the numbing cream I didn't feel any pain during the process. After the needling she put on a light chemical peel. I looked a little pink afterwards (which is typical for me when I do peels) but that quickly faded by the next day. No need for downtime. Over the next few weeks I noticed the indentations left by the cystic acne starting to lessen and fill in. Results continued to improve over the next few months. I've completed 3 treatments so far and I'm excited to see the results the next few treatments will provide. My skin is close to the point that you would not know I previously had such horrible cystic acne-the scars have drastically diminished. The best advice I can give is follow Jennifer's suggestions. She's the best out there, she knows skin, and her holistic approach will help you decide on the best treatment for you. And don't be afraid to try microneedling! I was anxious at first, but with the numbing cream I was completely comfortable and the results are incredible!
