I've been to Haus Murphy's at least once every couple of years since I moved to Glendale when I was a wee lass over 20 years ago. My dad was always obsessed with this place due to his love of German food and the movie Murphy's Romance.
The menu has changed little over the years. When I was a kid I really liked the schnitzel they served that had ham and cheese on top, almost like a schnitzel cordon bleu. Now I enjoy the Jagerschnitzel whenever we go. The food is always just ok. Never mind blowing. Never terrible.
Now that I'm a grown-up, I feel like I should really come here more often to enjoy the beer garden and have some brews, but it's usually still a family affair, and there are fun places to drink closer to where I live. I like the eclectic decor and vibe, but rarely find myself drawn here.
