| - What do you do after receiving a terrible haircut? I don't know about you, but I flock to Yelp to write a scathing review! This is a story I like to call The Worst Haircut of My Entire Life.
A little background: I have been to this salon 2 or 3 times in the past for dye jobs, and I always had a great experience. Multiple folks here worked their magic on my hair. With that said, I always go for all-over colour (dark brown) and just a few shades darker than my natural colour - pretty difficult to mess up unless you're an amateur. This time, I decided to go for my typical all-over colour as well as a trim to clean up my split ends.
THE GOOD:
- The only highlight of this trip was the results of my dye job - a dark brown, just as I asked for.
THE BAD:
- The stylist - and unfortunately, I did not ask her name - had an attitude problem and was very condescending. She commented multiple times on how dry my hair was, and how it was a crime that I straightened my hair more than 1-2 times a month. I'm always open to stylists giving me their tips and their opinion on what's best for my hair, but there's no need to scold me!
- She was also incredibly rough with my hair. I thought it was common knowledge that hair is most fragile when wet, and so it's best to gently comb through wet hair with tangles vs. brush through it. This stylist didn't know so, and she brushed through my wet hair with a paddle brush VERY aggressively, and then commented on how my hair was falling out!
- Lastly, this stylist gave me The Worst Haircut of My Entire Life. She recommended that I cut off 4+ inches because of the dryness, and after I gave in, she just went across with her scissors and bluntly snipped off 4 inches of hair. There was no light thinning of the ends or attempt to give it shape. It looked like I was wearing a cheap wig.
- This monstrosity cost me just over $100 with tax. I might as well have flushed my money down the toilet - at least I'd still have my long hair.
If you value your hair and your dollar, I beg you to go somewhere else for your next haircut. As for me, I'll be ringing up top salons first thing in the morning to find someone that can fix this mess.
