  • Think "Sex and and the City" meets "Swingers" and you'll get an idea of the vibe at Hanny's. Now, we went at lunch, so we didn't get the full-on experience that undoubtedly takes place after the sun sets. The big, old men's store space (the names of a couple of my favorite suit makers still hang on the walls) is kinda cool. The menu was casual for lunch with a good number of pizzas and sandwiches. The salads sounded kind of plain. (Side note: how does anyone in downtown PHX compete with Bianco for pizza??) I ordered the cabage starter salad, which was really quite good. My panini sandwich was fine, but nothing special. It annoyed me that they didn't have fountain sodas available, so everytime I wanted a Diet Coke they had to bring me one of these teeny 10 oz. bottles and charge me a couple bucks each for the privilege. The server was enthusiastic and friendly, but clearly not a trained professional. Hanny's was fine, and probably what passes for hip in downtown Phoenix.
