UGH. I hate you, Greyhound!
I have no idea what I was smoking last Friday when I thought it would be a good idea to take the Greyhound bus from Toronto to Brantford.
My original plan was to get the 5:30pm Via Rail train, but I happened to be walking by the bus station and wondered if there was a bus departing soon to Brantford, since it was only 2:30pm and I had lots of time to kill.
As "luck" would have it, the departures list said there was an "Express" Hamilton/Brantford bus departing in 30 mins. Great.
I foolishly waited 15 mins in queue and bought a ticket from the grumpy old man at the booth. "That will be $33".
$33????????????? WHA???? OMG...the TRAIN is only $30ish. How could a fecking BUS cost the same?
Okay, whatever, too late and I had already bought a ticket. All on board.
"Bus driver, what time do we arrive Brantford?"
"5:55pm"
DOUBLE WHAAAAAA??????? 3 hours? But...but it's only an hour on the train.
This bus stopped in Hamilton and just sat there for 45 minutes. UGH. And then 4 "unaccompanied minors" boarded (kids who looked about 5-8 years old and yelled and screamed the whole time) just to make the last leg of my trip even worse.
WHAT.THE.F*CK, Greyhound? How can you charge the same price for as Via Rail when your passengers have to sit for three times as long in a shitty BUS (with "unaccompanied minors")
