  • Was not intending to go inside but while riding past and remembering how I had to pump my rear tyre before I set out I went in to ask enquire about getting it replaced. Actually it was half an hour before I even took my bike in, while making my way to where the bike repair shop was located (rear right of the store) I took a detour past the surfing section, the canoes, the backpacks, the paddles (everyone needs one), and then finally the bike area where I again spent time looking at better and lighter bikes than mine, ended up buying cycling gloves, rear and front mud guards, and eyeing up some ass friendly seating. FINALLY after being asked by the friendly staff member at the bike shop I bought my bike in and within 20 minutes he had recommended a slick city tyre and put it on, and at my request done a bike assessment. I have a heavy duty mountain bike which I ride hard so the gears and brakes needed work on, so I dropped it off yesterday and will pick up today. Okay so this place is fun, spacious and even though you may never canoe you can not help but look at them and wonder. YES - I took out a membership! Why not its only $5 and if like me the next time you go you forget the card then they can look you up using your registered phone number. The only downside is the bike shop area can get crammed with other people bring their bikes in, and also they do not have their own cash register there so you have to go back to the front of the store and pay for items before taking them back to be used. So hopefully in 2 hours time I will be picking up a better bike and I will be that guy riding faster than the street car on King Street....actually I can walk faster no bike needed. EDIT picked up my bike, it was ready on the dot even though that meant being late to the YELP event as a result. The charges were hmmm kind of high for labour - there is a bike shop on Dufferin and Eversfield and the owner charges less for tune ups but convenience counts in this case. Bike is shifting gears better than ever and the brakes are on form so overall a happy chappy
