  • Wish I'd paid more attention to the negative reviews before I went. Decided to give this place a try and left with mixed feelings. The atmosphere is generally very good (with exceptions) but the work was very average.......you get what you pay for. When I arrived for my appointment shortly after opening a lady pointed me out to the nail tech Tarn who was to give me a mani/pedi. She was UTTERLY DISINTERESTED in being there and having to do the work. Perhaps she was having a bad day or unwell but I've never encountered anyone with such an apathetic attitude in her work or client in any industry. No greeting, no smile, just asked me to pick out a polish. As she was working on me, I noticed all the other techs were smiling and talking to their clients throughout the service and although I'm not a talkative person I thought I'd initiate some small talk and exchange some pleasantries. Even though there was no language barrier, there was no chatting with her and I basically got one word answers. At the end of my treatment she led me to the nail drying bar and left. Other techs would come and check that their client's nails were dry before they would leave. I waited and waited and waited and decided to just leave as she hadn't come by at all. At this point, the salon owner Lucy saw me and rushed over to make sure my nails were dry and to help me with my sandals which was very nice of her. My observations about this place: if you're a regular you seem to get better service. There was another first timer seated next to me and she wasn't too happy either. Lucy is a lovely lady as other reviewers have pointed out. She's very busy running around with many tasks and no doubt has the expectation that her nail techs will do their part to make a client (new or regular) feel welcome and comfortable at her salon. It just didn't happen in my case. So overall it seemed to be a friendly place but sometimes you get the one person who makes you wish you had gone elsewhere as in my situation.
