| - Always on the hunt for a great Sunday brunch spot (bottomless mimosas always having to be part of the criteria... which they do have for $22 per person)! Not knowing what I was getting into but was pleasantly surprised to find out they are Jamaican Mexican fusion! The wait was quite extensive, but I've heard amazing things and hoped the hour wait was worth it! Located in the Gramercy on the corner of 215 & Russell, I was thrilled it was on the southwest side and easily accessible as well!
ORDERED:
- CHICKEN FLAUTAS ($10.00): Lime crema, queso fresco, pico de gallo, avocado tomatillo sauce. (These were a decent appetizer, came with 5 pieces and had great presentation!)
- JAMAICAN CURRY BOWL ($15.00): Imported curry, coconut cream, seasonal vegetables, rice or couscous. (I personally am a curry snob, felt like this lacked flavor and did not have enough curry mixed in. Does not come with any meat; added chicken to it which costed an extra $5.00. Did not feel this justified $20.00 at all).
- JERK PORK HASH ($16.00): Breakfast potatoes, eggs any style. (A little bland but surprisingly spicy for jerk flavor, came with a side of tortilla which was scarfed down to counteract the spiciness).
Maybe ordered the wrong entrees, as I wasn't very impressed by the food. But I definitely would still give this place another try -- simply because the bottomless mimosas hit the spot and the service was AMAZING. Thomas was our server and was very personable and attentive! I would definitely like to try more items on the menu in the future.
