  • Camden Palisades is (was i guess now LMAO) one of the WORST apartment complexes I have ever had the displeasure of living at! They quite simply do not put the residents first and, could frankly careless about the property it manages. The apartments themselves reflect great deal of negligence and reckless disregard for comfort. Maintenance crews are ineffective, misleading and ultimately unreliable to do the job tasked to them. Palisades is the exact definition of the bait and switch, the prices may seem tempting but, it is far from affordable. I will illustrate below, using many supporting details to validate the claims I have made and hopefully dissuade you from making a costly mistake. To start, we were sold on the aesthetic aspect of this place with the grass landscaping and sprawling trees. As I am a pragmatist, I understand we live in a desert and having grass costs a lot of money. However, I would expect to be at least notified that they will be tearing it all up. They also, showed no consideration by informing us that heavy machinery was to be used to make this during this transition during EARLY morning hours. This is a very PROMINENT theme of this complex though, whether it is roofers working at 8am in the morning, rocks being dumped in front of walkways or, dump trucks rumbling outside your windows; all of which have happened without even a single piece of paper or email to anybody who is to be affected. Obviously, the area has really gone down hill but, the "security" (if you can call it that) does absolutely nothing, since being here there have been two break in's and both my roommate and I have had stuff stolen. The one positive thing I can say, is being in the second floor apartment we have not had serious bug issues and, I am grateful for that reprieve. However, that curiosity was not granted to my car, which is peppered with bird feces on a day to day basis! I have never encountered this before in my 28 years on this earth! The bird situation here is so intense, I had to buy a plastic hawk to hang over my car (which of course was stolen lol) to fend of the infestation. I have to get car washes nearly every week to ensure the paint of my car is not blemished from the droppings left by these vermin. We have had hornet issues by the parcel boxes and, frequently run into unchaperoned pets on the property. Homeless people rummaging through our trash to find god knows what.Though the trees may like nice but, if you have the misfortune of having one near your balcony than, prepare yourself for YEAR long sweeping details. Now, for most people this would be grounds enough to be displeased with their living arrangements but, this is just the beginning for me. Now, I understand older apartments will have issues but, we had in total 35 maintenance requests submitted on this unit which goes beyond reasonable. Every single outlet socket had to be replaced, the oven, microwave and refrigerator (which I will get to next) had to be entirely replaced to just list a few of our problems. The refrigerator situation was the worst of all because, when we reported it broken in May, the maintenance guy gave us a temporary unit that was an oversized dented up unit that had a freezer that was over frosting. We were told by him and the office staff this was at the most a 2-3 week Fast forward to END of July, we had asked multiple times about the status of our refrigerator and kept on being told it was going to take a few more weeks. It took us threatening inhabitable dwelling to get the unit replaced at the beginning of August. The apartment is also, very inefficient when it comes to energy usage. We kept it at about 80 degrees and it was running us $170-196 in the summer for 1000 sqft 2Bdrm. The drier in this place is a joke, to wash like 4 pairs of underwear, socks, t-shirt and wash clothes it will take about 1-2 hours to get them completely dry!! I could also, hear the guy downstairs snoring at night from time to time which was easily drowned out by my TV but, annoying nonetheless. Also, know going into this you will be swindled by Cox cable!! You will have to pay $120 for basic cable and internet than an additional $84 for higher speeds and the entry package of channels. We constantly have menus, pamphlets, jehovah witnesses and papers on our doorsteps. The gate has been rammed 3 times since we have moved in and they no longer take packages at the office which means they are either left on the steps or, you have to the pleasure of driving to UPS/Fedex to pick them up upon delivery. If you are real lucky, your package will arrive via USPS, than, have the pleasure of possibly having the mail guy sign for your packages and snatching them up for himself! lol (though we could never DEFINITIVELY prove that allegation.. I.E; no, surveillance or, security)
