Hoppin' is a fun spot. The exterior is unassuming, sporting only the logo on the side of the building. I went on a Tuesday so there was no wait, and there was trivia! You give them your card and ID and receive a wristband. The wristband has a pour restriction (30 oz I think), but my #1 piece of feedback would be to restrict the pours by cost instead. Unless you pull out a calculator, it's hard to keep track of how much you're spending because every drink ranges wildly in cost per ounce (for 40 cents to over $1!). I had absolutely no idea what to expect when I rang up. I ended up spending $13 on a normal pour of wine and a few differently-sized pours of beer. To me, it makes much more sense to say "limit me to $X" instead of having a universal pour limit (which also makes sense for safety purposes, but in any case...).
That aside, I genuinely loved the space. It's very open and has tons of room, though it sounds like it gets crowded on the weekends (like any other space in South End). The trivia was very relaxed and VERY random but definitely fun. I look forward to going back!
