| - I have been going to this Shoppers since it pretty much opened, and am now sad to say that the pharmacy has gone down hill so badly now that I am leaving a negative review.
In the past this was my one stop shop for shipping items, filling out some prescriptions or grabbing a bag of chips. But the Canada Post that was here has moved out into its own building just outside. There are also a few other Shoppers that are easily accessible in the area, and the last thing that was bringing me to this Shoppers was the pharmacy but now even that has gone downhill.
In the past year, between my other half and I we have had to go back MULTIPLE times to fill out a single prescription. My other half had to go back 3 times, as the first time she went in to fill a prescription they "didnt have enough" and she was promised to come back in later and they would have the remainder. She went back in and they still didnt have the full prescription and had to go back a third time and was never called back to let her know her prescription was ready.
Myself personally, I was recently prescribed medication for 90 days (1 tablet a day). The first time I went in to fill my prescription I was told they did not have enough, so they only gave me 10 and told me to come back when they call me. 28 days later I came back to see whats going on with my prescription, and again they did not have enough and was only able to give me 20 at this time. I was told to come again to pick up balance of remainder (60). Again no phone call and I went back in about 1.5 weeks to get the balance of my prescription. The person informed me that they now have enough to fill out my prescription, all 20 tablets....wait....what? I was owed 60. I argued a bit, and the person insisted that her system was accurate and that I was given 60 last time, and I was only owed 20. I told her no, this was all backwards. I had to drive back home and dig through my things to find my previous prescription to prove that I was only given 20 and was owed 60.
Fine fair enough, mistakes happen but now this is becoming a pattern.
Today I went in to fill out a prescription refill (nasal spray). I had already filled this prescription here and this was my third time. Very simple, its a prescription nasal spray. I was in and out in about 50 minutes! And there was a huge line up of people also all looking disgruntled at filling out their prescriptions.
I do not understand how it can take 50 minutes for someone to walk over to the back wall, pick up a boxed item with a single nasal spray, scan it into their inventory system and I should be on my way. But nope, took 50 minutes of absolute madness with bodies flying all around asking why their prescriptions were not filled.
I honestly think this Shoppers intentionally stocks LESS medications then any other Shoppers. Why would they do that? Well firstly, they would not have so much money invested into prescription medication thats sitting there waiting to be sold. Secondly, and most importantly by taking your prescription, and not filling it out fully the first time causes a customer to come back multiple occasions. By coming back multiple occasions, I buy not just one bag of chips, but two bags, three bags, you get the drift.
Even when I told them, its quite fine that they dont have enough to fill out my prescription fully can they fill it out partially and maybe can I switch to a different Shoppers to fill out the balance of the remainder they said I was not able to. Even though I had waited 20+ days to fill out one single prescription I was basically "stuck" to have to come back to this shoppers to fill out the balance of the remainder since my prescription was already taken with them.
If you cant fill my prescription the first time, and "promise" to have the balance of the remainder "in a few days", it would have been nice to have been told "a few days" means 20+ days.
This is definitely not a one time occurence, and is now a clear pattern.
If your looking to fill out a prescription, and are willing to wait 45 minutes to a few weeks to fill it out fully, this is the Shoppers drug mart for you.
If you want efficient service, where you can fill out your prescription when you first go, then go elsewhere!
