Back in December I purchased a bridesmaids dress for my cousins wedding set for January 17th 2015. On January 13th my aunt, the mother of the bride, died of ovarian cancer. The wedding was supposed to happen in Florida. I live here in town and the bride's entire family lives in New Jersey. After switching flights and having a funeral on the day the wedding was supposed to take place, we held on to everything hoping the wedding would happen later that year. Unfortunately, last month me and my cousins grandmother died of cancer as well. My cousin then informed me that the wedding would no longer happen and I should try to return my dress, informing me that it shouldn't be a problem because the David's Bridal she was dealing with in Florida was completely understanding.
When I purchased the dress they informed me of the no return policy. With every intention of the wedding happening I didn't expect anything to go wrong. When I called this store they were completely unsympathetic toward the multiple deaths and cancelled wedding. I spoke to Heather who was some kind of manager and she basically told me she couldn't help me at all and basically she didn't care. I am so unbelievably shocked by the poor customer service I have received by this specific store. I never wore the dress, the tags are still on and the dress is in the plastic but Heather didn't seem to care. I had a better customer service experience with the airline to change my flight from the wedding to the funeral than I have with this company.
I even went as far as to contact the corporate line and they were shocked at how poorly my situation was handled. They even said that based on the multiple deaths that have happened in our family it should't be an issue to get a refund. I have worked in retail and hospitality for many years and I can't even fathom how a person such as Heather could not even care less if she tried. Just to update- they will not be offering me a refund. I'm extremely disappointed in this company and this store.
