| - We took the "Grand Canyon Deluxe with Helicopter" tour. Everything was very well organized: pick up from the hotel, shuttle to the Boulder City airport, flight in a small airplane to the South Rim, immediate pick up by a small van and a ride to the helicopter terminal, helicopter flight across the canyon and back, a van again to a ground observation point, some time there, bus ride back to the airport, flight and shuttle back to the hotel.
The airplane flight was pretty interesting already. Flew over Hoover Dam and various scenery. The helicopter flight, of course, was the main highlight. So, I highly recommend adding this to your package (most people on our airplane flight had the simpler "Grand Canyon Deluxe" tour without helicopter and I believed they missed out). The ground observation point was the least cool, but of course allowed taking some photos not through a glass and with people in them, so was a good part of the tour as well.
One complaint is that nobody cared to warn us beforehand that the South Rim is located on the altitude of about 2 kilometers (6500 feet), and in January it was like -10 C (14 F) there. Probably, we could have googled this ourselves, but really, we did not even suspect anything to bother checking. Good thing it was a pretty cold day in Las Vegas as well (like +6 C, 42 F), so at least I had a warmer jacket on me.
