| - "I wish I may I wish I might to have a nice place to sleep tonight," is a common phrase my roommate and I would say to ourselves as we tucked ourselves into our beds.
Trying to sum up the words to vividly paint the picture that is AZ Rental Homes is a challenge, but I can assure you no matter what message you take away from this review today, you do not want to inhabit this place.
We moved in on a hot summer day to find that the master bathroom lights were out (my bathroom) leaving me to shower in the dark because they ignored my maintenance requests, two out of three working light bulbs in my bedroom, chipped tile, food still in the refrigerator, and a ceiling that leaked during the first week of move in because you know, it was monsoon season and all. After getting through the first month, my roommate and I took a deep breath and we decided to start fresh with our new home.
DUN DUN DUN... My shower suddenly started going ice cold within four minutes of showering. I was worried because I didn't think that was normal and we were beginning to broach winter and I like to shave my legs to impress the boys. I put in a request for someone to come look at it and it took eleven days to even get a response in which two people told me that there was nothing wrong with my shower. After more consistency and determination I told them that the issue needs to be fixed because I couldn't even get through shampooing my luscious locks. They replaced my hot water heater three times in one day.
SIDE NOTE: I'm no technician, but if replacing my hot water heater with a brand new one didn't work the first time why would it work the second or third time?
In the end, it took seventeen days to resolve my issue with the insipid landlord doing NOTHING for me or taking money off my rent. I did get a lawyer involved at that point in which I will be using towards the end of my lease. It also made me rage when Janine (the landlord) had the audacity to charge me $65 for ME NOT HAVING HOT WATER. My favorite comment of all time was, "Well, you're not completely out of hot water." THE HELL. Please tell me how a girl with 20 inches of hair can shampoo, condition, shave her legs, and wash her face can do that all in four minutes? I bet you they get longer showers in prison.
How did I solve this issue you ask? I googled the landlord's phone number and called him in the middle of the night threatening him with a lawyer.
Sound luxurious yet?
A couple months had passed and we were finally happy with our lives when WAM BAM POW WAM my dear roommate turns on the hot water and our sink explodes and she gets first degree burns. Our sink leaked for the entire night as the maintenance on call was "at dinner," and didn't get checked until the next morning. I asked for a mold inspection, which I deemed logical, and I got turned down and charged $65 for the call.
INSANE!
Again, I had to call the owner in the middle of the night and tell him I would send him the hospital bills if he didn't take off the charges for my crappy apartment.
Nice guy, I truly believe he has no idea what is going on with his unit and Janine just sucks him in with her lies.
This place is disgusting, other units have rats, and I feel like I'm in an episode of "Trailer Park Boys."
You can bet your bottom dollar that if this place even tries to take a single penny from my deposit I will sue them and I will be the new owner of AZ Rental Homes. I promise you this.
