I had two windshields replaced today. I called Auto Glass Now after finding them online with an advertisement of cash rebates. My 1st cash rebate was quoted lower than a competitor so I told them I would keep calling around. The rep. spoke to her boss and raised the amount on their 2nd quote to total $300.
Today the installer had an invoice with only $250 noted as a total rebate. When the installer called to ask about it the manager lied to me and the installer on speakerphone and told me that they only offered $250 and that is all they would be willing to give. She told me that this is the way she remembered it and she would surely remember the conversation (better than I would remember of course). I explained that I was price shopping and the rebate amount was the only reason I chose them over their competition.
The installer did a great job, but it is too bad that the sales/management staff are not honest people. Additionally, their rebate cards are not available right now. I won't be surprised if my rebate never even shows up.
Truthfully, I am not mad about the rebate, I am mad about the scenario. The manager explained that this is all that they could offer because the cost is $xxx.xx amount. Well that seems to me like someone messed up yesterday when it was priced the first time. This is not my problem, this is an internal problem but now the customer experience is ruined over $50.
We live in Phoenix, AZ with rocks and debris all over our freeways. I would have probably used this company regularly and told my friends and family to use them if this would have worked out any differently but now there is no way I could recommend this company knowing that they might lie to everyone I send to them.
