| - I found a Groupon for Adrenaline ATV Tours for $85. I read the reviews so when I called, I wasn't expecting great customer service. I was greeted on my first try and was told to purchase the Groupon first before making the reservation. After purchasing my vouchers, I called again. No answer. I waited 15 minutes to call back and made reservations for Nov 7. My bf and I were staying at the Rio so the lady told me the pick-up area would be at "The Pavillion". Fast forward to Nov 7. The lady had told us we would be picked up at 8. After looking at a map on the wall at Rio, we walk towards Rio Pavillion. When we got there, there was Pavillion 1 and Pavillion 2. I called Adrenaline ATV Tours to get a clarification of where to go. No answer, so I hung up and was about to ask someone working in the area only to have my phone ring. It was a 702 area code so I answered. To my surprise, it was the reservations lady returning my missed call. I asked her where the pick-up area was, but she was unsure, only knowing that it was some sort of a pavillion. She also told me that we'd be picked up at 8:30 since we were out further and off the strip. I asked a man working nearby who turned out to be a manager of some sort and he pointed out towards the entrance where all the buses and shuttles come thru. My bf and I started waiting at 7:50. 8:30 came and went. My bf started complaining because he was starving. At one point, he wondered aloud if we were being scammed. At 8:50, I called up Adrenaline and asked for the e.t.a. of the shuttle. The lady called me back after getting in touch with the driver and said he was running late. The driver, Ruben (sp?), finally showed up and apologized for running late. There were 8 others who would be with us on the tour. We gave our vouchers and signed the waivers. Ruben was funny during the drive to the valley. The shuttle was not "new" as stated on their website and is more of a van. The outside was dirty and the inside was kinda beat up. (I was sitting shotgun so I don't know what the back was like). I was cold and kept looking over my right shoulder to see if there was a window open or something because I could hear wind blowing. (My boyfriend informed me after the tour that he was cold because the sliding door of the van doesn't close all the way). For my bf and I, this was our 2nd time ATV riding together. Our first time was Kualoa Ranch. (Oahu, Hawaii for you mainlanders, where Pearl Harbor, Jurassic Park and 50 First Dates were filmed). There are portable bathrooms which you should use once you get off the van. There is 1 restroom out on the trail which you'll have a chance to use before and after lunch. There are 3 guides including Ruben. Eric was one and I cannot remember the other guy's name. The one with the long hair and beard. He's basically the operations guy. I don't understand why the other reviews said they are rude. They were cool as fuck. They broke us into 2 groups: beginners and experienced. My bf and I went in the experienced group. Eric helped me get a smaller helmet. You are also provided gloves. Don't expect the gloves to be clean. They are dusty. The "operations guy" went over the rules. One by one in the experienced group, he turned on our ATV's and trained us on how to use the controls. Eric did the same for the beginning group. If you cannot drive out of the gate on your ATV, you get stuck in the dune buggy thing with Ruben for the whole tour. (Not that it's a bad thing. Being a passenger in that thing must've been cool, too). The Operations Guy lead the way for the experienced group with Eric in the middle leading the beginners group and Ruben tailing the end. Once we got to the terrain, I was kinda shocked because it was so rough. This was not no Kualoa Ranch! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to handle. I was the 4th one in line of the experienced group with my bf tailing me. I couldn't keep up most of the time with the guy in front of me which is okay cuz you should never push yourself more than what you're comfortable with. Stay on the trail, but if you're afraid to go on the lil hills and see flat terrain next to it, drive thru that instead. At one point, we stopped and pulled over. Smiling cuz I was having a great time, I turn around to look at my bf and was shocked to see he wasn't behind me. The Operations Guy went to go look for him and a few minutes later my bf drove up. (His quad died out and Operations Guy got his ATV going again). Operations guy did some tricks on his ATV for everyone at one of the stops. ( http://youtu.be/3fF4B_vYmI8 ) My bf and I had a blast and I would totally recommend this place. A girl ended up with Ruben from the beginners group. Not sure what happened, but no one on our tour got hurt, just dirty! Even if you are having a great time, try not to smile during the tour or you will literally eat dirt! Although my bf had fun, he'd like to try a different tour for a new experience, but I'm afraid it won't surpass this one!
