| - AVOID this place at all costs. There are two other vets clinics (Cabbagetown and Sherbourne) within about six blocks of this place. Unless your pet is bleeding out at his doorstep, I strongly urge you pick either of them over this place.
Our dog accidentally injured another small breed dog while playing at the nearby park. It was a single superficial puncture wound. In an over-abundance of caution, we brought the dog over to have a quick look. As it was a small puncture, we expected him to do a quick flush and say that there was no need for concern.
Instead, what was originally quoted as under $100 ended up costing several times that amount, with a full $100 dedicated to the simple flushing of the puncture - something that, after consulting with several other vets, our own included, we discovered is not typically something that is charged above and beyond the fee for the visit, unless stitches are required. Stitches were not required.
Then there were the questionable choices made with respect to antibiotics. He administered and charged for a short-acting antibiotic injection that was not appropriate as a first-line, particularly when he was providing an oral antibiotic anyway - and, the antibiotic provided was a particularly strong type, that were also not needed in this case.
When confronted with this, all he would say is that he'd already given a deal as it was an 'emergency' and he could have charged more (based on other reviews, I'm inclined to believe him), and that he's running a business.
True as that may be, it's clear that care provided is a consideration that is secondary to this fact.
Again, please avoid this place. This is precisely the type of clinic that gives veterinarians, as a whole, a bad reputation.
