| - Looks cool from the outside, they had a pair of nice tee-pees in front. When I walked in however I was confronted by not a whole lot of what I wanted. It's like 109 degrees outside so why is it that the majority of what I see is sweaters, sweatpants, long denim, etc. When I walk in a store I'm not shopping for six months from now, I'm shopping for what I need right now. Tanks tops and shorts, I didn't see very many. There was a selection of shorts, some ripped denim ones, leather ones, thick woven ones, and one pair of silk shorts. Tank tops, I saw one on a mannequin. I saw another one in black made of rayon. Just disappointed by the selection. Plenty of J Brand denim, some Joe's jeans, however this is not the weather for long denim right now. Prices were not a big issue to me, clothing in a boutique for $60 - $200+ per piece is average, some things may have been marked up over what you'd normally find. Also, being that there are other boutiques in the area selling shorts and tanks for Sale/Clearance prices $20 - $35 a piece, it's a no brainer for me when I'm deciding who I want to buy from.
Pros, they have a large selection of children's clothes which includes Joe's jeans. The store was half children's clothes on one side and then men's, women's, and shoes, on the other side. However, again, I was seeing a lot sweat pants and long henleys in the children's selection. There was actually an unusually large amount of fur cap-scarves placed at the FRONT of the store. Makes no sense at all, it's June! On the good side, my 2 year old brother really enjoyed some of the things they sold for people his size so I would highly suggest considering dressing your fun child in some of the things they sell here. He really wanted a pair of native shoes in orange but the staff (who both seemed very nice!) let us know that they did not have them.
The style of the clothing was a little mixed, I didn't get a cohesive feeling.
Additionally the style of the interior design of the store and merchandising was a BIG rip off of AllSaints Spitalfields. Anyone can have worn wood floors and worn hardware, that's great, but the vintage Singer sewing machines lined up at the front with the horned skulls on the wall? Too much. You're trying to sell hip/trend and yet you cannot style your store originally. Overall, I was very turned off by the merchandising and the interior design.
I tried to search for their website but it appears they do not have one, a business without a website is very strange. There's only a facebook and a tumblr, both of which are in dear need of updating, just like the merchandising in the store. FB and Tumblr are great tools for creating a fan community for your business but if they're not being updated it's just a dead end for those of us seeking more information about your business. Maybe they don't need to promote themselves but they seem very stagnant right now.
Best of luck to them, they are probably doing well in that area since there are so many other boutiques and restaurants to keep up the flow of customers.
