I've been to Chin Chin on Sunset in LaLa lots of times. Fun place to enjoy tasty dim sum and a great Asian salad.
Unfortunately, the Las Vegas version is not up to the same standards.
Judging just the food - I ordered a steamed fish entree. They insist the fish was fresh - not frozen but I don't believe them. The fish appeared cooked on top but the undersides were grey and cold. I can't imagine any way this could happen unless the fish was frozen. I returned it and they removed the charge from my bill, but I lost my appetite after that.
Our one order of dim sum was the shui mai. They were huge - cooked to order so we had to wait - but it was worth it. The lettuce wrapped chicken was typical of nearly every Chinese restaurant I've been in. Nothing special.
Service was a bit unprofessional. I think they could cut out the socializing between the wait staff and concentrate on providing better service and a better product. Our tab was in the $135 range including tip - before the credit for the frozen fish - for two, so I think it's fair to compare Chin Chin's service to other restaurants in this price range. If you like being called "you guys" by the wait staff - this is your kind of place.
I left with a bad taste in my mouth - literally - and all other ways.
