1997 called and it wants it's amusement park back.
We stopped in with the grandparents who chose this as a way to let the kids have some fun indoors during July in Phoenix. First impressions were a little lack luster, it's old and look it. Our older kids (6 and 4) started out on the swings- a few of which had caution tape on them to keep you from sitting there. They then moved to the roller coaster which had a few of the cars seat belts tied together to "fix" ones that had ripped. The kids then moved onto a train that ran on an oval track. They liked the rides and didn't seem to care about the sketchiness of the place. I guess that's my job as the parent. There was a barrel ride that was closed and random games that were set aside and didn't work. The mini golf took about 3 minutes from start to finish and consisted of 6 holes. The play structure at the back had an area taped off with caution tape, but the kids enjoyed the parts they could access. We did not try the food, and didn't play many arcade games but the kids were entertained for about 2 hours. From the kids perspective they liked it, I on the other hand just felt like there was some basic neglect and disregard for keeping up with appearances and safety that could make a tired arcade and carnival ride look a lot more appealing. We will probably not be back.
